Consider the following tips for getting the most out of your fitness regimen at the clubhouse:

  • Find a good lifting partner. Sure, some people do great lifting solo. However, finding the right partner allows both of you to feed off each other’s energy. Workout partners are great for inspiring both parties to stay on track and push on to new goals.
  • Early morning workouts. Few people are eager to wake up at 5 or 6 a.m. to start their workout, but doing so can build great habits. This is when workout areas are rarely occupied so you can focus and it is a great way to energize your day.
  • Plan your schedule around your ideal fitness routine. If early morning workouts really are not for you, then re-think your class schedule and do what you can to rearrange it around a fitness routine that will work for you. Exercising and eating healthy will help you enjoy more energy and be better focused in school so ultimately it’s best to pick a routine that best meets your scheduling needs.
  • Walk and bike everywhere. Finally, when you’re not in the fitness center, stay active by walking and biking wherever possible. The college is a short 15-minute bike ride from the Junction Cottages and Townhomes and, once there, most everything you need is within a short walking distance. Just make sure to practice general safety and wear a helmet and take care to stay on well-lit paths when walking around at night.
